Synopsis of Gondoliers

All the girls in Venice are in love with Marco and Giuseppe, two gondoliers who choose their brides through a game, marrying Gianetta and Tessa. Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Plaza-Toro arrive with their daughter Casilda, seeking the son of the King of Barataria, who was secretly raised as a gondolier. Marco and Giuseppe learn one of them is the rightful king, but only the nurse Inez knows which. The story unfolds with mistaken identities, romantic complications, and the truth finally being revealed.
