What is HSP?
The CSTHEA Gilbert & Sullivan Homeschool Players are a high-level theatre society serving the greater Chattanooga area. Students come from all over the area to participate in this Gilbert & Sullivan society, as far as Cleveland, Soddy-Daisy, Dayton, Dunlap, and even Dalton and Trenton, Georgia.
If you are a homeschooled teenager and love any capacity of theatre, consider auditioning for our upcoming season. Our acting and singing coaches are top notch! You will grow in your skills! No prior experience necessary to audition.
Nate Ridgeway is the producer of this theatre company. In 2016, his family relocated from Atlanta to the Chattanooga area, and chance encounter between his wife, Robin and another homeschooling mom led them to join the Gilbert & Sullivan Homeschool Players, affectionately known as HSP.
Their children auditioned and quickly became a part of the wonderful HSP family, eventually performing as principal actors. The joy and inspiration their children found in HSP drew Robin and Nate into the program as volunteers. In 2017, Nate became the primary accompanist for HSP, and the following year he was asked to serve as the musical director. Since 2019, Nate has had the honor of producing this amazing company of gifted students and skilled volunteer adults.
